World TB Day 2025 Activities – District Chest Clinic Mannar

The District Chest Clinic (DCC) Mannar organized a series of awareness and community engagement activities to commemorate World TB Day 2025, reinforcing the importance of early detection, prevention, and treatment of tuberculosis. These events aimed to educate the public, encourage active participation, and strengthen the fight against TB in the district.

Key Activities

1)  TB Day Awareness Walk 
On 24th March at 8:30 AM, a TB Day awareness walk was conducted from the Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) office to District General Hospital (DGH) Mannar, passing through Mannar Town.

2) Awareness Programme at DGH Mannar 
An informative awareness session was held at DGH Mannar, where healthcare professionals educated attendees on TB symptoms, transmission, treatment, and prevention strategies.

3) Skating Event by School Children 
A unique and engaging skating event was organized, where school children skated through Mannar Town carrying TB awareness messages. This creative initiative helped capture public attention and effectively convey the importance of ending TB.

4) Posters, Leaflets, and Sticker Campaign 
To maximize outreach, a district-wide campaign was launched, distributing posters, leaflets, and stickers in public places and healthcare institutions. The campaign aimed to spread awareness on TB prevention, symptoms, and the importance of seeking medical care.
