World TB Day 2025 Activities – District Chest Clinic Monaragala
The District Chest Clinic (DCC) Monaragala organized a series of tuberculosis (TB) awareness and screening programmes to mark World TB Day 2025, reinforcing the commitment to TB prevention, early detection, and treatment in the region.
1. Screening Programme at Monaragala Prison – Conducted on 21.03.2025, this initiative aimed to identify and prevent the spread of TB among inmates, a high-risk group due to close living conditions and limited healthcare access. The programme included TB screening, symptom awareness sessions, and guidance on seeking timely medical care.
2. Screening Programme & Mobile Clinic at Pingarawa – Thennekumbura Estate Hospital (Badalkumbura MOH Area) – Held on 22.03.2025, this event focused on early detection and TB awareness among estate workers and residents.
